SELFIE AND PHOTOGRAPHy
In the age of selfies and Instagram, the internet is flooded with photos taken from phones. When a person takes a picture of themselves at a park, or at the beach, or in the bathroom mirror, they think they know how to take photos better than a photographer. I have been a professional photographer for seven years now, and in the photography game for ten plus years. I hate to bust the "selfie bubble" but there is way more to photography than snapping fifty photos on your phone and keeping just one. Photography is an art form, and you need time to master the craft. When you're setting up to take a photo, there are many different things you need to take into consideration. What the theme are you going to shoot for? What location are you wanting? Who is the right person that will make the picture you've envisioned in your mind come to life? What time of day should it be? What lighting do you need? Will you need help from another photographer? Will you need a make-up artist? The list goes on. It's not as if a photographer shows up, snaps one photo, and calls it a wrap. Sometimes you might spend more time setting up for a shoot, than actually shooting the subject. So next time you snap a selfie, don't call yourself a photographer. You are just a picture-taker.

Wonderful Jess
I want to talk about the time I got to shoot with Jessica Martin. It started when I put out a post on a Facebook photographer group about looking for a new models to possible work with. She answer the post and we made plans to meet up and shoot. Our location was Ybor city then maybe we would look in to downtown Tampa area. When I met her for the first time she was all ready to go shoot, which is something that normally doesn't happens. Before I even tried to start shooting her, she pulled out a suitcase full of outfits and shoes. She asked if I wanted to shoot any of these outfits. She had some many awesome opitions it was hard to pick but we decided on a red and black flowing dress and a elegant purple dress. As we began shooting and a conversation started about our personal lives. The first surprising fact I found out about her was that she had a couple of kids. The second surpring fact that hit me was when she told me her age. She did not look her age at all; I'll just say this she looked beyond amazing for age. She also told me about a personal tragic event that happened to her. It was about to bring a tear to my eye, but she then said it was nothing to dwell on. The whole time she had the most upbeat attitude and she was just a joy to work with. As we continue shooting and we talked about more things. We chatted mainly about issues of life in general. As the shooting wraped up and I left to go work on the photos all I could think of was what wonderful person she is and how I can't wait to work with her again!
Photography in Maine
I been in Maine now for over a year. Models here are pretty awesome. it is different than in Florida mainly cause models are all over the state. The locations that I shoot at are just amazing. As much as I love the photography community in florida. Maine is my home now and I am loving the the new adventures in photography.
Photography in transformation
Over The past year. I have not pick up the camera as much. But I still been getting great photos when I can. The world of photography has been changing for me. It was going to the point where I was questioning if I was still good enough behind the Len. In I took a trip to Florida with my wife. Where I was able to meet up with old model friends and new models. I pick up my camera and had some many wonderful shots. I felt like the old days when I started with the camera 15 years ago. I just shot and let myself try all kind of angles. I gotten back to simple basics. Helping me fell in love with photography all over again.
